Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: On such a hot day, we mostly opted to just put crocs on and cool our feet on all the major crossings of Rocky Branch. Rock hopping was certainly doable though if you scouted up or downstream. Little stream right before Mt. Resolution is flowing - good fill up spot since there is no water until the old Mt Langdon shelter site.

Bugs: Terrible black flies. Bring a bug net! Friend even had bug net shirt and I was jealous.

Comments
Comments: This one was kind of a doozy.. but I am finally under 100-miles left for redlining! Rocky Branch up to jct with Isolation Trail was nice, though lots of water on trail made for slower going. All of the river crossings were so welcome in the heat... we enjoyed the ice cold water! Rocky Branch from Isolation Tr down to the Rocky Branch Shelter #1 was of course tedious navigating the washouts as expected. Though with three of us, one of us always spotted the way, so we barely skipped a beat. Stairs Col trail is quite the climb at the end of a long day, but streams were flowing for water refills. Sunset from Mount Resolution was a great reward at the end of the day! Day 2 down Mt. Parker Trail & Mt. Stanton Trail was uneventful, just HOT and buggy. Beautiful trails, and lots of great views. Some sections certainly don't see as much traffic. Mt. Langdon shelter is removed, but campsites remain. I feel lucky that I have people in my life who are willing to come on these routes with me. Great to be out there, but this trip really reminded me what shape I'm in!
