 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked in the mid-sized dirt lot on Long Pond Rd. I was the only car there at 3pm though one pulled in shortly thereafter. I was one of three cars when I returned at 4:30pm. |

|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are well blazed in the color attached to their name. Jcts are well signed and I don’t recall anything more than perhaps trivial stepover blowdowns. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Good trails for dogs. I believe they were allowed and there were some do’s and dont’s posted for them at the trail kiosk. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Too rainy/wet for them to be out it seemed. |

Third SNH redline of the day after Oak Hill and Broken Ground. After getting rained on a little at Broken Ground, I was once again treated to a precipitation free hike. Trails were wet but not muddy. I hiked the Blue Loop counterclockwise and headed to the summit from the trail’s northern jct with Yellow Trail. From the summit, I then did OABs on Orange Trail (the section needed for redlining only, between Blue Loop and the summit), and the southern portion of Yellow Trail before heading back down the northern portion of Yellow Trail and continuing around the Blue Loop. I enjoyed reading the memorial plaque at Gilfillian Rock. Though I did not specifically see that name etched into the rock, I did see many others. I recommend checking it out. Note that there was a trail closure for another trail that connects to these somewhere nearby…maybe the Swope Park Connector or the more western portion of Orange Trail. Gaia had me at a little more than 3mi with about 500ft of gain. It took me 1hr15min to complete. |
