| Water Crossing Notes: |
Surprisingly with all the rain, the water crossings were all rock hoppable. The crossing just above Zealand Hut was no problem at all. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of tree branch overhangs down low on the decent of Bondcliff Trail. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |

| Bugs: |
The nice breeze and cooler temps made for a bug free hike to Bondcliff. At that point it warmed up and winds died down. Hiking down the Bondcliff Trail and the death march down Lincoln Woods was brutal. Lots of mosquitos and black flies! Bug spray saved me! |

| Comments: |
I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to be in the Pemi Wilderness. The MT Zealand trail spur and down low on the Bondcliff trail were a bit muddy and tough to avoid. Otherwise, the conditions were great! Water crossings were not an issue, even with all the rain in the forecasts. Bugs only were bad on the hike down from Bondcliff. I had to reapply bug spray to get relief. There were logs blocking the stream bed at the sharp right turn as your heading down low on the Bondcliff trail to prevent hikers from going the wrong way. Just follow the more rocky trail heading up, not down. It was my first time solo hiking the ZBonds Traverse and it was absolutely amazing! |
