Lovely trail, just remember to hit the entire length of it if you want to officially count it towards the terrifying 25 list. The waterfalls never seem to end on this trail, reminded me of the Ammonoosuc ravine. Bring your water filter! The hut is open to refill your water bottles too. The headwall is relatively short and not too bad if you compare it with the flume, Huntington, or King’s ravine. I’d recommend this as an introduction to those other scrambles. I never got my feet wet, and the trail was easy to follow except for one larger crossing, just aim left if you can’t find the trail there. Descending Osgood was tough on my knees (I’m not old!) but it’s not a presidential hike with hopping between huge boulders in the alpine zone. Plan to spend an extra hour on that first couple miles of Osgood if you take that descent. I was able to hitch-hike between the great gulf trailhead and Pinkham notch visitor center to make a nice loop, but waiting for a Good Samaritan to drive me 4 miles added 40 minutes to my day.
