|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Last water crossing before Brutus Bushwack and Owls Head Trail high, fast moving, and difficult to rock hop. Recommend high waterproof boots, gaiters, or put on some crocs and get your toes wet (Refreshing!) |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
multiple blowdowns that are easily maneuvered around or over. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
My pup was the only one I saw outside from the last mile in Lincoln Woods on our return with families. Pup did great with water crossings and the Owls Head Slide (She is a 40# mini Aussie who has done multiple slides and lots of endurance training) |
|
 | Bugs: |
Vicious mosquitos the last 2-3 miles (this was around 1pm/2pm after a rain shower subsided) |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
long sleeve dark blue flannel on side of trail on Owl's Head slide. Was soaked and heavy, otherwise I would have carried out. |

"Lincoln Woods, Black Pond Trail, Black Pond Bushwack, Owl's Head Trail, Brutus Bushwack"
Lots of mud. Much of it is unavoidable. Wear good waterproof boots and potentially gaiters and you will be golden. The Brutus Bushwack was akin to black ice with steep sections of slick mud/roots. Poles helped to alleviate much of the slipping by giving some extra downhill support. Slide was dry at the bottom and wet once back in the trees but easily negotiated. |
