Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All trail signs are good and in place. Several scattered blowdowns along this loop. The western side of the loop, which follows an old logging road, is pretty brushy. The section of trail between the pond and Smith Pond Rd. could also use a weed whacker.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw lots of friendly dogs today who were all having a blast.
Bugs
Bugs: I picked up three ticks but otherwise the bugs weren't bad at all. I never needed spray or the head net even while stopped.

Comments
Comments: The day after a deluge is always a good time to visit waterfalls!

These trails were wet as expected and mud wasn't too much of an issue overall, except along the western side of the loop. The logging road walk was pretty swampy most of the way. That section is a good case for 1.7 mi. of bog bridges. ;)

Both waterfalls were flowing well and Big Dog Falls was looking very impressive today; the best I've ever seen it. Use caution in the area of this waterfall as the rocks are very slick.

Another beautiful day in this forest!
