Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At least two crossings required wading. All others were rock hopable, but once you’re wet, you’re wet. Embrace it. It’s liberating.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Most of the trails were in good shape. A couple of nuisance blowdowns on Rainbow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Coming down Carter-Moriah from Carter Dome to the Hut would probably be an issue. Otherwise all trails would be fine, but wet.
Bugs
Bugs: None to speak of, and that’s on a windless day. Surprising.

Comments
Comments: This was a wet hike. Most water crossings were easy, but a couple required wading. Water was cold but not deep and not running fast enough to be dangerous. Lots of mud on almost every trail. Bog bridges are in sad shape. Other than Carter-Moriah down to the Hut, the only steep section was on Rainbow going up to the South Knob.
