Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many. Brought our tevas for crossings and stayed in them after the first one. 2 or so crossings were deep up to our knees, but we rolled up our pants above the knee and had great luck using our poles. Water was flowing heavy and fast, so it was a little dicey sometimes.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of blowdowns across the trail on Sabbaday. Nothing impassable.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Yes, bugs. Mosquitoes were persistent, but no black flies were biting.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Someone lost their Garmin GPS on this loop - likely along Scaur Ridge Trail. We didn’t find it.

Comments
Comments: Clockwise loop. It was a grueling day with incessant bigs. Fell at the beginning of the scramble after attempting to climb a boulder - foot slipped, dropped 2 feet and caught a rock hold (full open hand crimp), then the hold popped off and I slid 4 feet to the base holding a full open palm of crumbly rock, scraping my right shin and knee on the way. I’m fine, but be warned the rock is crumbly. Roots and low 2”-3” trees gave us better holds. I wouldn’t want to come down this way. Clockwise seems better! Not my favorite peaks, but we got it done. 5 to go!
