Trails: Slippery Brook Trail, Eastman Mountain Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, June 22, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at the end of Slippery Brook Rd. The road is in good shape. Parking area at the gate for about 6-8 vehicles, depending on how they're parked. Plenty of room along the road also. I wouldn't worry about getting a spot. All the times that I've hiked from this side, I've been the only one there.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I counted 35 step-overs, one walk-under, and one duck-under on the Slippery Brook Tr. coming up from the Jackson side. Eastman Mt. trail was in excellent shape, in fact, the best that I've ever seen it in.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of H20 for your pooches on this hike.
Bugs
Bugs: They didn't seem bad today, but I used repellent.

Comments
Comments: My favorite way to get to Eastman, especially if one enjoys the solitude. First 2 miles on a flat logging road, the rest of the way to the base of Eastman is very gradual with soft footing and no hard climbing. The rest of the way up to Eastman is somewhat steeper and also good footing. I didn't run into any other hikers today, which didn't surprise me. Excellent views.
