Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Not an abundance. I am a constant user of trekking poles on water crossings but got by fine after forgetting them. Only got wet on one of the last crossings of the Mad River towards the very end. On that note, water is sparse. We filtered from a source that was referred to as unreliable in the book, but due to all our recent rain it was fine, just weird color.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Slippery Brook, Baldface Knob, Baldface Circle: Epic, awesome, loved it. Meader Ridge: 1 blowdown otherwise great Basin Rim: Lots of blowdowns hard to get around, some minor drainage work needed. Section after Basin intersection was much better. Royce Trail: Drainage issues x5. SO MUCH debris really hard to take a step. Pretty horrible between 2600-1800 feet. Significantly better after Mad River Falls.

Bugs
Bugs: I just finished a tube of Cortizone-10. I need to buy more, it was horrendous.

Comments: For those who don't know, a true Skyline is marathon length, and encompasses 9 more miles on the other side of 113. For more info on that, blog post below!

Cannot recommend this route enough. 17-18 miles, 5000 gain. Best corner of the state.

The views along this hike, were in my opinion, better than the 48. Being able to see the tallest peaks in New Hampshire and also the lakes and peaks of Maine was unforgettable. Each peak had a remarkably different feel, despite all being neighbors. This route was challenging, but in the best way possible. Best way I could've spent my 20th birthday, no question.

Pictures, triumphs, struggles, and inspiration down below!!!
