Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 4 water crossings. #2 and #3 were quite difficult. Our group found a way to log walk or rock hop, but it took some care and looking upstream a bit. Other people we were told took their shoes off and waded. Crossings #1 and #4 were fairly easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of places could use help with the mud. Crews were heading in on the 21st. Not sure what their plans were. Kenduskeag trail is very overgrown and needs to be trimmed back.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of water for the pups. Easy dog hike. Bring them along!
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly few for how wet the trail was.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Insulated water bottle - given back to the work crews who recognized it.

Comments
Comments: Stunning views after this wet slog. The trail was wet most of the way. Manageable mud, occasional bogs, and a couple of difficult stream crossings. Kenduskeag trail is grown in, although the trail is easy to follow. Conservation workers were just hitting the trail, so hopefully it is now trimmed back, and possibly a few more really wet spots boarded over. The trail follows a lovely river for quite a ways. 2.5 miles of fairly flat, then up you go. The views at the top were wonderful, and kept unfolding as you came closer to the summit. A couple of false tops, so keep an eye out on your map to ensure you get all the way there!
