 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I can see why the residents take issue with parking at the true trailhead. It's basically in someones driveway. There is a lot on the power lines a couple hundred feet back. Just park there. Respect the locals |

Carter-Moriah, south bound, cruisin with a half pound, skeeters zoomin' all around. A fine day in the forest was had! Gorham high test got me in a big mess, lower than a wildcat... somehow I got volunteered to go on this hike. I had not done this way since my first time by on the 48 so it was a wild bit of trail amnesia. Ran into AJ at the lot, whom it was his first hike in years and of course we meet! We put the hammer down from the get go, despite the humidity. I am not sure if I was hiking, or swimming. To the ledges is more or less skidder roads, then wet ledges due to NH being like the little Prozac rock from those commercials years ago, it never stops raining. A very interesting collection of hikers on the summit; that being someone I went to elementary school with, and two teachers from JP. We ended up hiking down with Symmetry, whom assured our pace was beyond honest as she was about a good foot taller than me, and spotted 15" on Lil Squirt. I could not even believe the time when we got back to the car. We must have huffed paint or cocaine to play chicken with the rain (that never came). Gorham PD would absolutely put us in the slammer if they caught us with that Gorham High Test! (Old Crow Medicine Show / Alabama High Test - AKA sour patch kids) :P |
