Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing of note which is why I chose this hike
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Obviously there are lots of old bog crossings that no longer exist, and the ledge stairs have seen better days and some treads are missing. So what?
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw plenty of dogs but only on the Kinsman Ridge trail....I doubt many dogs would like the section of the KRT descending Cannon.
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly nothing today?! I did inhale one black fly but otherwise pleasantly absent.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One pair of hiking poles on the way up North Kinsman...weird.

Comments
Comments: First time hiking High Cannon. First time descending KRT from Cannon. My conclusion is that given a choice I will always take the High Cannon Trail. And if I were ever to do this trek again I would go clockwise and descend HCT which is a breeze compared to descending KRT from Cannon. Passed dozens of young hikers coming up KRT to Cannon and they were all very nice and energetic! Overall a beautiful day even with the 4900' of elevation gain and over 12 miles. Coming up High Cannon was cool literally..and I was actually cold sitting on the top level of the tower with that breeze and a wet shirt!
