Comments
Comments: A humid and muddy day, but nice to get a break from the rain to get back out on the trail. Lots of mud and slippery rock-hopping, but no major problems and no wet feet.
I went up Hale Brook to the top of Mt Hale - always a nice, peaceful feeling there. Plenty of hikers descending as I went up. From Mt Hale I took Lend-A-Hand over to the Twinway - again, very peaceful. Only saw one other hiker on this section. Of course, once I arrived at Twinway the trail was a bit more crowded, but all good - mostly friendly day hikers coming from or to the hut.
After reaching Zealand Mountains, I had planned to loop across on Zeacliff Trail, and then take Ethan Pond up to Zealand Pond, but there was lots of thunder around and I was running a bit late, so I decided to retrace my steps and drop down past Zealand Falls Hut, which was high-energy! Lots of hikers socializing! Looking forward to doing the loop over to Ethan Pond next time.
The walk back to Zealand Road was easy going, as always.
