Plenty of room at the trailhead. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Around the 2 mile mark on the Signal Ridge trail: rock hop on the way in, waded through on the way out. Everything else was fine. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in good shape. Everything is wet from all of the rain and humidity, but muddy sections were small and not a problem. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Desolation would be too much. All other trails would be fine. |
 | Bugs: |
Had to stop not far into the woods to spray from head to toe. Not bad after that. The wind on the summit helped. |

 | Comments: |
The Carrigain Notch trail was very enjoyable. Lots of looks at the nearby rivers and streams and Mt Lowell. The Desolation trail is a killer. Very steep and unrelenting. All of a sudden you pop out under the fire tower - a welcome sight. The Signal Ridge is all rock and roots with very little soil due to its heavy use. |
