Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, July 13, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The lot here is small and I bet it fills up on weekends, there was plenty of room today, 2 cars on arrival one on deperture. There is an overflow lot about a 1/4 mile south.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None to think about, all little streams.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good shape for the most part. There are two large mud holes at the start as you enter the woods. Granted, we have had a lot of rain, but these you have to walk around and there are herd paths doing just that. These two spots absolutely need bog bridges. They wouldn't have to be long, but they are needed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy dog trail, Shay ran this sucker for his second ascent.
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly not too bad at all.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I once was lost, now I am found.

Comments
Comments: This is a nice easy hike. The trail up to Iron is ok,but the trail down to the ledges is fantastic. The ledges themselves are quite cool and it's a very unique vantage point overlooking some nice real estate. This was Shay's #43 for his second round of the 52wav, we are utilizing some of the de-listed peaks this round, because they are cool mountains and we are not snobs about views, we love trails too. Shay plans to finish this week, 9 to go. We wanted to finish in a year (52 in 52) but looks like 10 months will do it.
