| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Daniel Webster Trail needs a serious haircut - especially above the STOP sign. Car wash up there. Some maintenance was done this year but its obvious it was not supervised as stuff was cut a foot or more above the ground, whereas the same amount of effort could have been used to cut it flush and not be a hazard. |

A FINE day above the forest was had yesterday. Three gridders walk into the Presidentials - it sounded funnier in my head. Clark-ish start for a redline type of day. Thankfully we where ascending the Cap's while it was raining, that made them extra special along with all the other trails. Lots out doing Presi's - single day and backpacking. A lot of everything but not for very long, often flipping quickly from expansive views to amazing views of the inside a cloud. Put your rain jacket on? It stops raining. Put sunscreen on my insanely pale legs? Clouds roll in. We came down Daniel Webster, which if you're looking to experience some ADK type fun, above the STOP! sign will get you a good fix of what its like out there. Super tedious. A complete Jekyll and Hyde type of trail - if I ever see that trail again, it will be too soon (ha). We grabbed Adams5 for Trailwrights as well, of which after three visits, and going "well they are on the same contour ring i'll just hit both" the bump closer to the Col is the true summit! |
