Parking spots nearly all taken at both trailheads on Sunday. NPS: please take notice and consider expanding parking.
Sandwich Notch Rd is strictly single lane. Some steep slopes challenging climbing for 2WD. Road recently repaired/serviced from Rt. 49. Road from Sandwich quite rough, needs significant attention. |

Lower Algonquin trail muddy in spots.
Two lengths of Guinea Pond Trail flooded knee deep by beavers. Beavers seem to be in the process of trying to deepen the flooding.
Due to many rock scrambles hike was much more physically challenging than the metrics would suggest. We averaged only about 1.5 mph moving speed. |
