Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We took shoes off for the crossing of the Chocorua River on Weetamoo- absolutely not necessary but you'll want to if it's hot!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Piper was in excellent shape. Westside desperately needs to be brushed and had very faded blazes (though it is not difficult to find). Liberty looked great.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: So many cuties, all so nice.
Bugs
Bugs: The were pretty annoying at times, but free from the summit!

Comments
Comments: Weetamoo had some horse prints that were basically postholes... not sure what gets done for those trail maintenance wise but I think another horse pack could probably erode certain sections pretty bad.

I am curious what the going fix is for that type of damage so if you know I'd love to hear about it!

Pretty demanding loop, but a really good one to avoid the often treacherous feeling ledges around Chocorua. I may have opted to do this in reverse next time, as there were far less slabs on Piper than Liberty. Not much for water around the top, so make sure you've got plenty if the sun is shining bright.
