| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No spots at Appalachia Friday at 8am; we were maybe the 10th on the road. Upon return at 12pm 7/29 there were a couple open spots and fewer road parkers. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Nothing crazy, but you may get ankles wet. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blowdowns here and there but nothing that can't be straddled, or ducked under. All in all, these are all in tremendous shape. Great job RMC! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Our lab (Frank) did just fine. Plenty of water. A couple of spots on Emerald Trail he needed a boost or pointing out the right line, but other than that no problem. |
|
| Bugs: |
OMG, mosquitoes swarmed as soon as you weren't moving.Even the slight breeze didn't help. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
One black sports bra and a very nice LED pocket sized flashlight at the Perch Shelter. Both left hanging on the line. |

| Comments: |
Trails all in great shape for a shortish redline overnight trip with the wife and dog. Emerald is no joke for about 0.4mi, with tricky bouldering but no real scrambles. Terrain made much tougher due to everything being damp and wet. Mud on trails was mostly minimal, but I checked "major" because there are places you just can't avoid. No boot suckers, but definitely place where you could sink over you boots. Weather seemed to keep most people away; humidity was ungodly Friday, and we were socked in in the morning coming down. Got out before the rain, but again, everything is soaked. |
