Barney Brook Trail is always a joy to hike and today was no exception. It was surprisingly dry with very little mud. The easy grades and generally smooth footing make this a quick ascent.
Around the halfway point, just before the old cellar hole, a new sign marking the town/county line has been put up. From the info on the back, it looks like this was done last year. I'm curious about the location though, as the town/county line is still a bit south of this point according to the USGS topo.
The summit shrubs are loaded with blueberries and I snacked for a bit. View were beautiful and it is about time we had some cool, dry air! |
