Parking/Access Road Notes: No issues. 4th car in the lot at 5:15 this morning. At noon, lot was almost full.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rick hopping needed in a few spots to prevent stepping in water at least 8” deep. Surprisingly, most of the ledges/slabs had quite a bit of dry area by 7:30 so they were not difficult to navigate.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a 4” birch across the trail near the Nickerson Ledge/Carter Ledge trail junction. Traveling from out of state so didn’t have my saw with me or this would be an ‘easy’ fix.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Enjoyed seeing and meeting some very friendly canines on the trail!
Bugs
Bugs: None to speak of until I returned to the parking lot and had a mosquito temporarily land on my arm before being crushed.

Comments
Comments: Great day for this hike and really enjoyed the loop. Next time I will plan on using Liberty Trail for one side of the loop. Tons of blueberries on Carter Ledge and Middle Sister Trails. Piper Trail has been picked over so a bit harder to come by. Agree with others that indicated to use Carter Ledge trail to ascend only. I would have been extremely slow trying to safely go down that trail in comparison to Piper Trail.
