Comments
Comments: The ridge was cloud covered when we arrived at the TH. Cool but comfortable temperatures as we set out. It's easy to see the impact on the trail from these heavy downpours, so much rougher and eroded in spots. When we got up to the view section the ridge was still cloud covered from Lafayette to Little Haystack, but Liberty was poking up. Up to that point the trail was not terribly muddy, but after that there were a few spots especially closer to the hut where it was rock hopping through standing water. Slippery going through those steeper sections where all the yellowish rock is, but thankfully it was dry for our return. At the view spot it was totally clear across the ridge, sunny, dry air, and breezy. Two different weather days in one day!
