Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The two on York Pond were doable with dry boots with care.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The main reason for the post is a new multi-stem blowdown on York Pond a above the wet section. A large old double trunked maple came down, and took another smaller tree with it. These all block the trail. A chain saw would be best to get both stems and branches, but an axe and saw would do. I took out a handful of pole sized blowdowns or broken stems once up on the Weeks ridge but larger ones remain. Prior hike report covers bog bridges on York Pond. The blowdown section on South Weeks is easy enough to follow now despite a lack of paint blazes (or trees to paint), high vegetation hiding the trail and no obvious corridor for a very twisty section. Winter might be interesting.

Comments
Comments: Nice fern hike. Car wash when wet, and they can slow one down on the descent north of South Weeks due to hiding the trail rocks and roots, but pleasant when dried out. The Middle Weeks tentsite was a thick grassy rectangular shape which might provide some cushion. It must get light use. The water source a ways down from it towards South Weeks was flowing nicely. Nice day.
