Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in great shape thanks to the Squam Lakes Assoc. for all the hard work. One duck under on CR trail with branches removed to ease ducking, and one new blowdown that may need power saw on Morgan mtn trail, w/significant heard path bypass.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had a blast, however, there is a very muddy section of the CR trail about 1/2 mile beyond intersection that is very difficult to avoid getting muddy, especially for pups. 2-3 flowing water step over crossings on the Morgan mtn trail, none on the CR trail (bring water). Overall, easy grade for pups, and there is a route around the ladder to the Morgan summit.
Bugs
Bugs: Plenty when stopped & out of wind, but there was some breeze to keep them away most of the time.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Yellow bandanna on CR trail left on Kiosk

Comments
Comments: Quick afternoon hike to these 2 peaks. Lots of friendly folks out enjoying the good weather, especially on the Morgan mtn trail; had CR trail to ourselves. Trails are easy to follow and gradual. CR trail has minimal elevation gain from the intersection with the Morgan mtn trail. However, there was a very large muddy, standing water section on the CR trail about 1/2 mile form the intersection that was traicky to get through; some bypassing, some log bridges that had seen better days, strategically placed rocks, also helpful. Stayed dry, but Coop was a muddy mess. Most other muddy patches on both trails were just a bit squishy. Nice little lookout past Webster just as starting descent; stopped here to grab a bite to eat and relax. No obvious place to BW to the high point of Webster; entered woods from south and explored several high points along the ridge. Several cairns and out looks. Returned back to CR trail.
