Trail Maintenance Notes: Kilkenny is in desperate need of attention. Overgrown, can’t see foot placement. 2-4 foot high growth along trail. Actually lost the person in front of me in this growth. Funny because lots of chainsaw work thru here.

Comments
Comments: Climb out of Willard Notch was really not bad. Steep then flat.... over & over made for a nice start. Very enjoyable hike with so much green! We commented on the amount of ferns on this route. So peaceful & beautiful. Up/down over Weeks not too bad. Lunch on trail before Waumbek, don’t think any of us wanted to end our time here. Final climb to Waumbek was very easy. We saw our 1st people of the day at the lookout. Hazy but nice views. Tagged summit then down the muddy trail to Starr King. No one here, that’s never happened before. Back down mostly dry trail. Spring was flowing. Not many folks seen either day. Great trip with great friends! If you want a peaceful hike it’s hard to beat this trip!
