Comments: Castle Mountain - West Peak, Stratford Notch Mountain (East East Goback Savage), Goback Savage - East Peak

Followed forest road east from parking, and cut into the woods around 2350ft towards Castle West. Generally OK woods going up. Descending, took a gamble and went west off the peak, following various drainages then slabbing down around the western ridge of Ledge Mountain starting at 2500ft. Dense and steep at times, but made it down the 1.2 miles to the logging road in 45mins, shaving off ~2 miles from my day, woohoo!

Logging road south from there and it's in great condition up to a landing NW of Stratford Notch Mountain, after which it's overgrown and muddy in places. Tried to follow herd paths up Stratford Notch Mountain without much luck but still not awful getting up there. Spent way too long looking for the register. As you follow the heard path up to the summit from the South, you'd expect the high point to be on your left, amidst some dense scratchy stuff. Instead, it's about 100 yards to the right / east of the expected point, through a blowdown field and even further east than the seeming high point of the blowdown field. Email me for GPS coordinates.

Goback Savage E was straight forward. So-so skidder road you can follow most of the way up, though it took some whacking to connect with it. Saw a baby moose with it's mom on the logging road back.
