Great conditions yesterday. Some occasional both thick and minor mud, primarily near the bottom, but with poles and rocks I was able to avoid it. Very limited wet spots on trail/rock. Caps Ridge trail was a real treat on the way up, if a bit tiring. If following the Alltrails route, the split path on Caps Ridge descent is a bushwhack - I was up to my chest in bushes at one point, unable to see the ground - but only for 10-20 feet, the rest of the bushwhack was ok. The Cornice is not well maintained, but in good weather and with other hikers it was not hard to follow the cairnes. |
