Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked just off of Hubbard Brook Road. Quiet area, felt good leaving the car there.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There were so many. Lots of standing water on Mt. Kineo. Luckily all the big crossings were bridged through there though. Over on Three Ponds the beaver pond is not crossable by conventional means without wet feet, same for the other boggy area that follows. There were stream crossings on the 118 side of Three Ponds, as well as Hubbard, that we also went in to about our knees on. Wasn't worth changing and stuff so we dealt with wet shoes.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Mt. Kineo was mostly fine until the snow mobile section, where a desperate brushing is required. Donkey Hill was great. Three Ponds looked pretty good, of course could use many bog bridges but nothing crazy with blowdowns or markings. I liked it the way it was. FR 211 needs some serious help. Grass was at least 5 feet tall, we were eating spiders at 5'5 so that's how we know. Hubbard brook was oddly well blazed given the state of the trail, some relocations but with GPS in hand theres no getting lost. Needs some serious clearing of blowdowns that make it easy to loose the trail when going around!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Probably not a great idea if you don't want to smell wet dog.
Bugs
Bugs: Oddly good today!

Comments
Comments: Lives up to the reputation, but super cool. I went in pants, a great decision, and it made the day very pleasant. The wet, squishy, and full on walking across a pond moments were all very funny, because we were prepared for them. Do your research homework with this one, we found it to be an "easy bushwhack that happened to have blazes."
