Some parts of Boott Spur trail just below treeline had large enough puddles of standing water that they covered the wooden bog bridges laid down there and necessitated a detour around. Tuck's was basically a waterfall. |

Beautiful hike with my friend James, though without views as visibility was poor and rained on and off. Ascended Boott Spur from Pinkham, proceeded to have a long break at LOTC hut, summitted Monroe where a summit beer was enjoyed, and then took Tucks down to not make the day a boring out-and-back. We did not see a single other hiker along the entire length of Boott Spur Trail, which is part of the appeal for me, versus what I once heard described as the "Times Square" atmosphere of Tuck's and the top of Washington. |
