Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Conning down fishing Jimmy ther is a water crossing, not hard, but trail is hard to follow, confusing with a herd path.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The backside of cannon is special. ‘Rough trail”. A couple coming behind me stopped me with”Excuse me, are you sure we are in the trail?”. But the blue blazes are easy to follow. Lots of opportunities to add some foot logs in the cannon balls above the standing water.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few on fishing Jimmy, all doing well and well behaved.
Bugs
Bugs: Not a one. Seems very odd, woods are full of standing and dripping water. Kinsman pond campground is right by pond. But none at all.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing of note

Comments
Comments: Going up cannon is wet, and some good standing water and deep mud on top swampy sections. Coming down back side is rough, steep, trees, rocky, all wet and slippery. The kind of trail that hiking poles get in the way 50% of the time because you need your hands to hold onto a tree or rock. Lots of wet standing water flowing in trails between the cannon balls. Kinsman tent site was almost full when I arrived about 3 pm. I managed the last small, no standing water, kinda flat spot, almost big enough for my tent. Cooking area under leaky tarp is a mud pit. Fishing Jimmy is slow going down due to all wet rock, although it was not that slippery, just scary to look at. From tent site up Kinsman’s is not so bad, not effected much by all the rain. If you go anytime soon, plan for wet muddy feet.
