Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: High - got 3/4 of us across the first one, but decided to take off the shoes for the second.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some rotten bog bridges and two big blowdowns at around 1.7 mi point on York Pond Tr. Lots and lots of mud.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw 1 other human today, descending, no dog. If they could negotiate paw-sucking mud they’d be ok.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes but not bothersome unless you lingered. And apparently they don’t like the rain either.

Comments
Comments: York Pond Tr’s first 0.7 mi to the two Brook crossings was a boot-sucking mud fest that definitely christened my son’s new boots. Once you started the ascent the footbed got better. Sadly after a 30 min downpour the rest of the family voted to call it and save N. Weeks for another day, so we turned around not long after reaching KRT. Being addicted to lists and summits, I was rather bummed, but it was a worthy reconnaissance mission and after the mud and crossings I loved the solitude and the beautiful green ferniness.
