No other cars at the private 171 parking area that I saw. |

Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
The 3 stream crossings on the Mt Shaw trail were relatively easy to cross despite heavy rain yesterday. |

The trail from Big Ball to Black Snout was overgrown in places. |

essentially none. |

| Lost and Found: |
1 hiking pole at start just after parking area (red). |

| Comments: |
A couple spots where the trail is overgrown enough that it was hard to find, notably at Big Ball to continue toward Black Snout. Spruce branches covering trail making it hard to see.
Thanks to the couple at Mt Shaw for other hike recommendations and hawk ID.
