Comments: We were fortunate to meet Ken H. on the Bog Brook Trail who was heading up to Rainbow Trail to do some maintenance--he knew about the blow downs and was heading up to address them. There was one in particular that for a short time resulted in us losing the trail as we descended from Carter Dome. Thanks to Ken for his trail maintenance efforts--much appreciated!

The Rainbow Trail was lovely--just a few blowdowns to contend with. The Wild River trail had it's share of mud and was a bit of an obstacle course to negotiate for that reason. The second to last crossing of Bog Brook going south (see above) was tricky and I needed to walk upstream to find a decent crossing and even then, I could not avoid getting my feet a bit wet, but nothing that was uncrossable.
