| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking in a lot just beyond the trailhead. Sandwich Notch Road is very very rough right now. Drive slowly and consider taking an AWD car. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings are rock hoppable or crossable on logs, but water levels are pretty high |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Several bog bridges on the Guinea Pond trail are loose and/or broken. The section of Guinea Pond trail right before the "high water detour" has a large and in places, deep pond developing. Probably due to all the rain and beaver activity. You can tiptoe around it, but it gets tricky. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
We saw one dog. They would love this trail, at least up to the pond. |
| Bugs: |
Lots of mosquitoes. And frogs. |

| Comments: |
Black Mountain Pond is lovely. And once you get past the really wet parts, these are nice trails, gradual and scenic with decent footing. The extreme wetness early on is annoying though. |
