It was a great one & done hike. When compared to tripoli rd trailhead up to Osceola, I'd recommend Tripoli rd instead. This route is significantly steeper and I gather from other trail reports and another hiker we encountered, in winter, ditto. The steep sections tend to allow loose snow to slide off, making it more difficult to climb.
Anyhow, despite the steep sections, heat & humidity, and maybe some Canadian forest fire smoke, we had a good day on these trails and mountains. And, to boot: at least our weather was relatively sunny, rocks under foot were largely dry and there was no threat of t-storms. All in all, a good day hiking. |
