First mile is a lot of rocks and boulders with mud, running water, and a few easy stream crossings. Footing improves- more gravel- the rest of the way to Mt. Osceola. When you get to first set of abutments near the summit, there’s a limited view on a side path to the left. Nothing on path to right. Lots of big, deep patches of mud going to East and able to negotiate on logs for the most part. The herd path is narrow and easy to follow. Only a couple short steep sections. There’s a canister on West Peak. Gorgeous view back to East Osceola from Peggy’s Perch on West Peak. Overall a beautiful day in the mountains! |
