Comments
Comments: Started at the gate up Washburn Road as many others have done. Followed the snowmobile trail to the North Blue / Blue saddle and bushwhacked north through relatively open woods to the marked summit on the very flat summit plateau. After reading the logbook, I found that there is an older logging road that gets very close to the summit area, so I slabbed along the north side of the ridge, and soon found the logging road that brought me right back to the saddle. This was a much nicer approach. From the North Blue / Blue saddle, I followed increasingly grown in logging roads nearly to the summit of Blue, which was wonderful. Unfortunately, the higher elevations above 2500' had been fogged in all night and there was no wind, so everything (including me) was absolutely soaked after about 2 minutes. I continued down to the col through thicker (though still not bad) woods and passed around the false bump, then finally ascended W Pleasant. From there, I followed the ridge north back to the road. Along the way, I hit a few old skidder trails and wonderfully open hardwoods. All in all, the terrain was much easier than I had expected and the old logging roads made my progress very quick.
