Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The brook crossings on the Ammonoosuc Ravine were not difficult as there are plenty of rocks to step upon. The crossing of the brook on the flat area higher up on the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail was a walk through an inch or two of water. The brook crossings on the Jewell Trail are bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition. There is no sign for the side trail off the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail that leads to a viewpoint of a magnificent waterfall. There was one small tree across the Jewell Trail perhaps four to five feet above the surface. Not a concern during the non-snow season.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Should be fine for dogs. The mica schist may be abrasive on the paws.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Great day to be above tree line. Almost no wind.
Most of the pathway on the Crawford Path, Trinity Heights, and Gulfside Trail have an excellent surface for great footing. The Ammonoosuc Ravine and Jewell Trails have only slightly rougher footing. The upper portions of the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail have many ledges that were sufficiently dry to permit secure footing today. On a rainy day these ledges may be challenging.
Many hikers did not take the short side trail off the Ammonoosuc Trail above Gem Pool that leads to a perch with an excellent view to two lengthy cascades plunging into a pool. As noted above, there is currently no sign for the viewpoint.
