Per earlier reports, entered woods between B07 and B08. Traveled up drainage, keeping more to the east side, then more east to the west ridge of the east peak to the summit. Found register, but pencil needed sharpening (last person to sign had a really hard time). I had a pen (not sure why, but no pencil to leave), Next person on these peaks may want to bring a small pencil, my pen would not fit in jar.
As others before, I descended towards the north ridge of the COL, but apparently not far enough (didn't follow my planned line exactly), and ended scrambling up a pretty steep section to the flatter ridge line. Spotted the semi-circular moss covered rock structure, but didn't see much remaining from the fire tower. Found the register, however the jar was on the ground, and contents were gone. Didn't have replacement contents, etc. Next person may want to bring register, pencil, with baggies. Headed back down much more to the north into the COL to avoid steeps before swinging south and down towards the camp sites.
All woods were pretty open, and easy to traverse. Didn't even take 2 hours to hike these peaks. |
