Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There is a small dirt lot at the junction of 302 and the Ripley Falls road. Never got too busy, but can't hold a lot of cars.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing Silver Cascades was not too bad, the water level is pretty low, but the rocks are extremely slippery. Flume cascades is also at quite a low level, no problems crossing here.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There was one or two blowdowns on Webster Cliff trail that were not too hard, but may pose as a slight challenge to some. Sections of Webster Cliff trail are a little obscure, an extra blaze or two would solve the route finding easily. There were also some parts on the ridge that were quite overgrown. On Webster-Jackson trail, there were a couple of blowdowns, again, not too challenging, but a little harder for some.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: There were some flies and some kind of gnat, but they don't bother you.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: This was my first time doing Webster Cliff trail and it was beautiful. A couple of really steep scrambles near the summit of Webster, but the whole ridge walk was gorgeous. I didn't meet many people today, on either trail. I had planned to just do an up-and-downer, but it turns out that some of the scrambles on the edge of cliff are extremely steep, so I decided to take Webster-Jackson down. There is one ledge where extra caution should be used, there is only 2 or 3 feet of space, and a pretty good drop down on one side. Walking through the Gateway to the Notch on 302 was scary. I don't know if I made it any easier, because it is a three-mile walk down the highway. Webster Cliff trail was mostly dry, a few minor patches of mud, and a few wet rocks. Webster-Jackson trail was wetter. There were many wet rocks, some of them were quite slippery, especially around Silver Cascades. There was also some mud, but not as much as I was expecting given how much rain fell over the summer. Fall colours definitely starting to come out up there. I wouldn't say they're in peak, but by next weekend, they'll probably be at or near peak. Not too much leaf litter yet, but the leaves will be making the trails slippery soon.
