Comments: Today I completed my NH 48 as I summited Lincoln. This was my first time doing the Falling Waters loop and I can see why it is such a popular hike. The route is interesting all along the way with interesting rocks, beautiful brook, stunning waterfalls, and then the unforgettable ridge. Today we had clouds on top of more clouds but I didn't care since the thrill was still there on the ridge and the relief was completing my quest to hike the summits. The trail was busy but people were polite and spaced out pretty well. Didn't feel the wind too strong until Lafayette and then wow it was ripping. Many humans were tucked behind rocks to have their snack. Some braved the wind for photos. I continued down to the hut before taking rest. Old Bridle Path was a fun rock slab ramp and the clouds cleared from the ravine to offer a few amazing views of golden foliage and cloud-capped ridgeline. The lower sections of Bridle Path had trail crews installing what seemed to be 100 stone steps on a graded and widened trail. Anyway I was happy to get it done today and the trail looks ready to go for more hikers.
