| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many trails in Pillsbury State park are Snow mobile logging roads (wide and rocky). MSG is in great shape, easy to follow w/white blazes (maybe 1-2 easy step over blow downs). Signs are up for the winter snowmobiling. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper had a blast, loved the easy (not to steep) trails. However, no water on the MSG, so bring some for your pup. Small running feeder streams in the park, some are more difficult to get to since they are snowmobile bridges with steep banks. |

| Comments: |
Took a counterclockwise route starting on the Mad Road Trail. Took a little searching to find the trail head near one of the campsites. Headed over to the MSG for most of the hike. Many of the trails in the state park are snowmobile trails (wide, rocky, etc), with sections of significant puddles requiring one to bypass in woods, despite the wide trail. The signs for winter snowmo travel are already in place.
The MSG is a wonderful trail, very interesting, lovely foliage, and terrain. Leaves are starting to cover the trail, but the blazes help show the direction. Sections covered in soft pine needles, nothing too steep; and wonderful stand of hemlocks. Popped over to the Summit of Kitteridge (east of trail). Continued north until due east of Lucia's Lookout South Peak then entered woods traversing over the eastern peak to the South Peak summit. Both are recognized, but I could not open the jar on the minor peak; signed in at the south peak. Returned along same route. Traveled back south on the MSG to Bear Pond trail and on to parked car. Saw only one person w/friendly pup on trails near summit of Kitteridge, and a few near the camp grounds. |
