Trails: Table Rock Climbing Trail, Table Rock Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, October 8, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The parking area at Table Rock Climbing Trail #57 was not labelled as such - if driving west on Rt. 26, it is on the left just before the sign "Leaving Dixville Notch State Park"; if driving east, it is the first parking area on the right after passing Lake Gloriette and the sign for "The Balsams", 0.1 mi uphill from there. The parking area at Table Rock Trail #50 was full at 5:30pm, so we parked along the road along with several others.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are several junctions at the top near Table Rock that are missing signs or that have unclear signage. Even just indicating the number of each trail (e.g., #50, #57) would be helpful. For those coming up Table Rock Trail, it is probably no problem, because they can remember the way the just came, but it was temporarily confusing for us after coming up Table Rock.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: It might be tricky to get a dog up Table Rock Climbing Trail, but Table Rock Trail should be fine. Table Rock itself is not a good place for a dog, especially if there are other hikers around, because of the sheer cliffs.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: We went up Table Rock Climbing Trail #57 (very steep) and down Table Rock Trail #50 (only moderately steep), with a car spot. Table Rock Climbing Trail #57 was mostly dry. It was Table Rock Trail #50 that had significant mud in places. There were about 10-15 people and a dog when we arrived at Table Rock at around 6pm on Sunday (a little too crowded for me, given the narrowness of the rock). It got dark rapidly after sunset. As we descended in the dark, we helped several hikers who had forgotten to bring headlamps.
