Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at York Pond Trail head. Lot has 4 spaces which were full at 9AM, but we parked along the road, as did several cars arriving after us. Three still along the road when we left at 3:30. More space in the lot down the street, as well; several cars in there int he AM.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock Hops, but we had to find the best location down stream 20yds.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Couple of blow downs here and there, all easy to get around. KRT could use some brushing. Fortunately, many of the leaves are down, and the ferns are brown and done for the season. We didn't experience the leg cutting brushiness, instead we got whipped by branches crossing the trail; not so bad. A month ago I met trail maintainers on Star King on their way to trail work, and they mentioned how much they already did and how much was still needed. Many thanks to them for keeping the trail as clear as possible. On the plus is that the trails are less frequently traveled, and there was very little (if any) erosion seen on other trails in the whites. Did not see any blazing on this section of the KRT.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Coop had a blast on these gradual trails. As expected, the lower section of YPT was pretty wet, and muddy. Hard to keep a pup clean through this section, but the final stream is a good spot to wash the pup before the ride home. All the water provides numerous running streams for the pup to grab a drink, but at higher elevations and along the KRT there are few opportunities for drinking running water; bring some for you pup.

Comments
Comments: Tackled this as an out and back; easier than spotting a car and driving an hour between the end points. Trails easy to follow and quite moderate. Lower section of YPT was quite wet, few more bog bridges would be really nice; several of the current logs are broken, and one is like a teeter totter. Note: they can also be slippery when wet and mossy. Couple of wet/mud sections in the COL between each of peaks to get around, but mostly just wet leaves, mossy rocks and slippery roots. In the clouds at the higher elevations, most of the day, kinda eerie. One break in the clouds cover while descending South Weeks on return, and we got a few views.
