| Comments: |
Franconia Ridge completely covered in snow and slush, with rain/ice/hail/snow falling during the day. From here on out bring microspikes and layers, gloves, hat, hard shell, etc. Trail was fun to be on, we had lower winds (20 mph) so it wasn't too awful, but, tis the season to start thinking winter hiking gear for any peaks over 4,500'. Small snow spots on rocks right after entering the alpine zone on Falling Waters, and the ridge was a mess of snow and slush pools. Watch higher summits forecasts and be prepared for winter conditions. |
