The hike started at about 0415, & i wore a base layer (UA Coldgear top & bottom), as well as heavier darn tough brand socks. My stiff soled boots were still completely saturated from doing washington on the 17th, so i had to use some trail running shoes i have. I am feeling the pain more today as they offer little support. As far as temperatures/layers goes i forgot the number of times i removed my fleece & ended up not wearing any liner gloves. I was also moving fairly constantly at a faster than average pace.
The trails were a lot drier than i expected, but with three days of rain coming i expect that to change.
This route hitting passaconaway via Walden Trail was much harder work than i remembered, though i only did it one other time.
Along Blueberry ledge trail the last of the foliage was peaking, all in all a great time of year. |
