| Water Crossing Notes: |
Mostly bridged, but there were two submerged areas (one in the field due to ponding of the rain and the other before Spectacle Pond due to beaver activity; had to get feet wet). |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few stepovers. As noted above, the beaver pond dam has breached, so water is flowing across the trail (but not under the footbridge). |

| Comments: |
Trails were generally dry late this morning/early this afternoon with a few damp areas from the recent rain (and a few sprinkles early in the afternoon). Ledge areas were fairly dry. A couple of standing/running water areas noted in the Water Crossing notes. Some areas with a carpet of leaves.
Some nice peekaboo views, as well as nice ledge view just off the trail in one place (old cairn). Good views on the ledgy summit.
Trail was generally well marked with a few vague areas. Could imagine parts (such as the field portion near the beginning) could be quite ticky in the spring. Doesn't seem like it gets heavy use.
Noted a few side trails that don't show up on the various maps. Noted one near Spectacle Pond and another one a little further up (I think it was labelled as going to something called Hardy Road?).
Cloudy, kind of raw day with temperatures in the 40s. Some nice fall foliage colors. |
