| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Thank you to whomever cleared the previous duck under blowdowns on the North ascent. However I am sorry to tell you that the loop has a whole lot more blowdowns than previously. Most are walk unders that will become problematic with the snowpack. The ridge itself is also growing in and the corridor is tight over long sections. This will be problematic anytime that it rains.
Speaking of rain, wowza the mud is a problem. The section between the main water crossing and the beautiful newish rock steps is muddy on a good day, and right now it’s swampy. Very swampy. I think that the only thing that will save us is a deep freeze! |

Great day for the Hancocks - I had views, zero wind, and the weather didn’t kick in until I was almost back down to the loop junction. I crossed paths and had a nice chat with @bluecollar4hiker - one of the nicest hikers out there!! |
