Comments
Comments: First mile or so was easy hiking on leaves and patches of snow, no traction needed. Lots of frozen water where the trail got steeper; was able to hike around most of it, but eventually strapped on spikes so I could charge right up. Got a little off trail at the sharp left turn at 2.2 mi, bushwhacked on some tracks until I realized I was definitely going the wrong direction and turned around. Thought I was ready to scurry up the final pitch before the alpine zone, but ran into loads of thick ice at the brook at 2.5 miles. The path beyond the brook was too steep and iced over for me to try alone, so I called it a day and headed back down.
